Choosing insoles for padel starts with a simple question: do they fit your shoes and feel comfortable when you move? A sport name on the packaging does not replace checking size, volume and the feel underfoot.
Check four things: room in the shoe, materials, arch position and size.
1. Check the space inside your shoes
An insole adds material between your foot and the outsole. If your shoe is already snug, a bulky model can reduce room for the toes or the top of the foot. Check whether the original insole is removable and follow the shoe manufacturer's instructions.
Before a match, make sure the heel is seated and the toes have room. Uncomfortable pressure is not a better fit.
2. Compare cushioning and the feel underfoot
Foam and gel are common in sports insoles. Material alone does not predict comfort: thickness, construction and the way the insole sits inside the shoe matter too. Look for a clear composition and photographs of both sides rather than relying on phrases such as “maximum cushioning”.
3. Check the arch shape
Preformed insoles may have a raised area under the arch. Its position should feel comfortable. More height or stiffness is not automatically suitable for every foot. If you use prescribed insoles or need an adjustment for a diagnosed injury, speak to your practitioner before replacing them.
4. Choose the size and check trimming instructions
Use the product's size guide. On trimmable models, follow the lines and instructions, removing a little at a time. Two products in the same size can still have different shapes. The insole should lie flat without curling at the front, creasing or sliding.
Can the same insoles work for padel, football and running?
Some models are intended for several activities, but the room inside different shoes varies. Check compatibility and comfort during the movements of each activity. Do not transfer an insole without checking the new combination.
