Fit should be the first consideration when choosing insoles for football boots. The size number is only part of the picture: shape, thickness and the boot's internal volume determine the combination.

Your foot needs room and comfortable hold. Matching size numbers do not guarantee compatibility.

Check your boots before changing the insoles

Try them with the originals and notice contact points. If your toes or the top of your foot are already compressed, an extra layer will reduce space further. A new insole cannot correct the wrong boot size.

Check whether the original is removable and read the manufacturer's instructions. Do not pull out a glued insole just to experiment.

Four points to check

1. Toe space

With the boots fastened, the toes should not be squeezed. Check height at the front as well as length: a correctly sized insole can still take up too much space under the forefoot.

2. Pressure over the foot

Tie the laces as usual. If you have to loosen them much more than normal, recheck the fit. Do not assume uncomfortable pressure will disappear during play.

3. Heel position

The heel should remain seated. An insole that raises it too far can change the hold and bring it closer to the boot edge.

4. Outline and arch

The insole should lie flat without creases or raised edges. If it has arch support, check that the position feels right for your foot.

Adjusting a trimmable model

Read the instructions before using scissors. A removable original insole may help compare outlines, but the final check takes place inside the boot.

  1. Identify left and right.
  2. Check the size and trimming lines.
  3. Remove small amounts only from the permitted areas.
  4. Refit the insole and check that it lies flat.
  5. Repeat only if excess remains in an area intended for trimming.

Do not cut the arch support to force an incompatible model into a boot. Our fitting guide explains general checks to adapt to the product instructions.

Try the combination before a match

Use your usual socks and make a brief, gentle trial on a surface suitable for the studs. Check movement, creasing and heel position. Do not start a match in an uncomfortable combination. Remove the insoles if they cause pain, tingling or new pressure; seek advice if discomfort persists.

Can IMPACT+ be used?

Movicore IMPACT+ combine PU foam, a gel surface and arch support. They are washable and trimmable, in EU sizes 35–48. Trimming changes the permitted outline, not the whole volume: check the space in your boots.

Common questions

Will a running insole fit football boots?

The sport name does not establish compatibility. Check shape, volume and comfort in each shoe.

Can the original insole stay in?

Only if the instructions and available space allow it. Follow replacement instructions where provided.
