Silicone pads with toe separators can be worn in shoes when the front has enough space and the combination does not create pressure. Being able to put the shoe on is not enough: the padding should remain flat, the separators should not pull and walking should feel comfortable.
Movicore pads combine cushioning under the base of the toes with built-in separators. Check each pair of shoes before making the combination part of your routine.
Check width and height in the toe box
The accessory adds material beneath the forefoot and between the toes. A shoe that is long enough may still be too narrow or low. Put the shoes on normally without the pads first. If they already squeeze your toes, they are not a good starting point.
Do not assume that all your trainers have the same internal volume. To compare localised pads and full insoles, see our guide to accessory formats.
A step-by-step trial
Start briefly at home, where the shoes are easy to remove. There is no confirmed universal trial duration for every foot.
- Check placement without shoes. Follow the product photographs. The padding belongs under the base of the toes. Guide the silicone gently without stretching the thin sections. Stop if it already feels uncomfortable.
- Add your usual socks. Make sure they do not shift or fold the pads.
- Put the shoes on without forcing. Open them sufficiently; do not push hard to squeeze your foot in.
- Fasten normally. Check space around and above the toes, along with heel hold.
- Walk a few steps. Remove the shoes and recheck placement if pressure, folds or movement appear. Do not prolong an uncomfortable trial.
A comfortable fit without shoes does not establish compatibility with every shoe.
What your observations mean
| Observation | What to check |
|---|---|
| Pressure at the sides or over the toes | Check width and height; reject the combination if the pads cause pressure. |
| A fold under the forefoot | Recheck positioning; stop if it folds again while putting the shoe on. |
| Movement while walking | Check before and after fitting; a pad that will not stay in place is unsuitable for that use. |
| Comfort only when the heel becomes too loose | Reject that setting: you need toe room and comfortable hold elsewhere. |
Everyday examples
Lace-up shoes: opening them helps your foot enter, but the fit must work with the laces fastened for walking.
Tight toe boxes: if the toes are already squeezed, the pad takes up more room. Try another pair rather than waiting for pressure to disappear.
Common questions
Does one size fit every shoe?
No. Foot shape and internal volume still matter. Do not stretch the separators to force a fit.
What about socks and insoles?
Include them in your trial. Two accessories that work separately may not work together.
How should I store the pads?
Remove gently and follow the cleaning and care guide. A pair includes two pads and a resealable bag.
